[VIDEO] On "The Color Master"

This past Sunday we offered members of Tom's Book Club an exclusive live-stream video of LARB editor-in-chief Tom Lutz speaking with renowned short story writer and local favorite, Aimee Bender. She is the author of two short story collections and two novels, including an LA Times pick of the year and a New York Times notable book. Her latest, The Color Master, is vintage Bender, full of surreal and sumptuous tales that, according to the LA Times, have "surpassed the simple feat of inventiveness to own a most dazzlingly urgent relevancy.”

We aired this interview live for our book club members and offered them a chance to ask Aimee questions during the taping. If you're interested in participating in future book club events, please visit Tom's Book Club and sign up.

Aimee's full interview can be seen here. Enjoy! (Note: Due to a technical issue during the stream, the interview is broken into two parts. In Part 2, Tom and Aimee acknowledge the glitch and then pick up where they left off in Part 1)
