Rosemary Erickson Johnsen

Rosemary Erickson Johnsen is Professor of English at Governors State University, near Chicago, where she teaches upper-division and graduate courses in literature and popular culture. She has served five times as co-director and teaching faculty on Michigan State University’s English Department Summer Program in Dublin and the West of Ireland, most recently in 2013. After writing the first North American dissertation on Patrick Hamilton and earning a PhD with a specialization in the British inter-war period, she turned to crime fiction as her main research area. She is the author of Contemporary Feminist Historical Crime Fiction (Palgrave Macmillan), articles and reviews on Irish, Scandinavian, and Anglo-American crime fiction, and many presentations to scholarly and general audiences.
