Maria McFarland Sánchez-Moreno is co-director of the US program at Human Rights Watch, where she guides the organization’s work on US domestic issues. Previously, she conducted advocacy on US foreign policy as deputy Washington director for Human Rights Watch, and covered Colombia and Peru as its senior Americas researcher. She is the author of There Are No Dead Here: A Story of Murder and Denial in Colombia, forthcoming from Nation Books in February 2018.
